Ethereum founder, Vitalik Buterin advocates for an Ethereum Foundation director arrested for providing blockchain technical information to North Korea.
Vitalik Buterin published one article on Twitter that "I agree and sign a petition for the release of Virgil Griffith, project leader of the Ethereum Foundation."
Buterin mentioned on Tweet, "I refuse to take convenient path throwing Virgil under the bus, I firmly believe that that would be wrong. I am signing, Reasoning below."
Virgil Griffiths was arrested by US investigative authorities on last Tuesday for alleged violations of the IEPA.
He was accused of providing local technical information, attending a blockchain conference in Pyongyang in April and recognizing that blockchain and cryptocurrency information could be used as a means of money laundering in North Korea.
Buterin said, "It was just a presentation based on information about open source software."
Griffiths is reportedly in violation of the State Department's permission to travel to North Korea.
